Honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Students had some meaningful and heartfelt conversations about making the world a better place. Here’s some of their artwork. Some students chose to draw and others chose to design their drawing digitally. Thank you to Deep Space Sparkle https://youtu.be/9asVSWhb2W8 for this art lesson.

Students also watched the TEDxAmanaAcademy Talk Diversity and Inclusion: Lessons In Friendship and Love by Maryam Elassar | https://youtu.be/mzu3ira61k8 I love the images that they found to represent Ms. Elassar’s message.

2020-2021 School Year

Welcome to 5th and 6th grade. My name is Mrs. Ayala, and this is my eighth year at Redlands eAcademy.  I began working with high school students in the year 2000; however, it was this class that made me realize I really enjoyed working with elementary students.

I’ve spent the majority of my time in 5th and 6th grade. It’s the best of both worlds. I’m able to see 5th graders complete their last year of elementary school and I’m able to see the 6th graders begin their middle school journey.

As your child’s teacher, I’ve set two major goals for all my students; I want them to be successful academically and want to see growth in respect for themselves and others.

I believe learning can and should be fun and that students are active participants in the learning process. It is my goal to empower students to take ownership of their learning and to provide them with opportunities to be creative, critical thinkers, collaborators, and effective communicators while building a strong foundation for life-long learning.

When I’m not working with students I’m enjoying my time with my husband, 10-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son.

While this year will look different compared to our blended environment, I will strive to create similar learning experiences virtually.
